Ramkhamhaeng University Area. Only 1 kilometer from us. Visit the Statue of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great, who invented Thai alphabets, and Ramkhamhaeng University, the largest open university in Thailand. Students are from all parts of the country and nice making friends with. In the evening, take a walk through the busiest night street-side shopping and food stalls in Bangkok, mostly catered to the students. |
Rapid boat to the tallest building in Thailand and the Old Town . Take a public boat along the canal. The pier is in front of Ramkhamhaeng University (not far from our hostel). Get off at Pratunam, the largest clothes market in Thailand. Thousands of wholesalers and retailers are there. Be sure to go up the Baiyoke building, the tallest building in Thailand to witness the bird-eye's view of Bangkok. Or transit to another boat, ride all the way and hang on to the same ticket to go to the Old Town area. Temple of Emerald Buddha, Grand Palace and Old-town Bangkok (Ratanakosin area). Take a bus no.512. About one hour ride or a rapid boat. Bangkok from the sky train. Take a bus no.551 to Victory Monument and get on BTS mass-transit system for Bangkok sightseeing. Red Light Area and Night bazaar. Take a bus no. 109 and 115 to Silom during the evening to peek the night life and nude show of Bangkok. Fun is recommended to both hetero- and homo-sexual preferences. Lots of imitated and very cheap products are sold at the night bazaar in the area. Chatuchak weekend market. This is the largest Sat-Sun market in Thailand. You'll find almost everything selling here. Antiques, handmade items, pets, books, creatives, plants, clothes, food, etc. Quite interesting for tourists to see various and unique products all over from Thailand. Gay scene. Gay travelers can ask for local gay spots from us. Our place is also gay-friendly.

Ayutthaya Ancient City. Take a train from Huamark Station, 2 km from the hostell, to Ayudhaya directly or to Hualumpong Station, the Central terminal, and transit to Ayudhaya, the very famous ancient capital and also world heritage. Koh Loi, Sriracha & Koh Sichang Island. Travel by train from Huamark station to a district of Sriracha. Visit Koh Loi, a small island off the shore with a temple on it and a short road connecting to. From Sriracha, travel by public boat for 20 Baht to Sichang Island for 45 minutes. This is a beautiful island with many tourist attractions. See the train time-table here. |

Lopburi, the monkey town. Take a train from Huamark Station to Hualumpong Station and transit to Lopburi, a town full of monkeys and ancient architectures. About three-hour ride from Hualumpong. See the train time-table here. |
Pattaya. A very famous beach of Thailand with several attractions such as Nongnuch Park, Tiffany's cabaret show, beaches, etc. A train leaves from Huamark Station at 7.35 am.
